In a conference call on Tuesday, NFL Players Association leadership informed players there would be zero preseason games this year, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Tom Pelissero and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
It was not a surprising development following the NFL's offer to have no preseason contests on Monday, but it is now all but official, Garfolo added.
Originally this offseason, the league proposed cutting in half the usual four-game exhibition slate by playing only two games. However, the players sought zern Monday, the NFL countered with one, but offered none before the day was out.
